Episode 93: Pay Attention, Notice, Listen, and Be Curious

Emily shares how she grew up in Winnipeg and had to fit in with the dominant population. She discloses how her children changed her life when at 8 and 10 years old, they told her they want to learn Chinese and be more Chinese. She states the importance of paying attention, notice, listen, and be curious about people who are different from you.

Dr. Emily Wang

Dr. Wang is a Senior Director at Hull Services, and has a private practice providing therapy to individuals, couples and families; parent consultation and psycho-education to parents of all ages from pre-natal to adulthood; and reflective practice and supervision to professionals and leaders in the workplace. She is an Associate Member of the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education, and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, a member of the National Register of Health Service Providers, a member of the National Early Relational Health Network. Dr. Wang is a current board member with the YW Calgary. She is the 2020 recipient of the University of California, Davis Continuing and Professional Education- Parent-Infant and Child Institute “Bruce D. Perry, Spirit of the Child Award” and the 2023 recipient of the Psychologist of the Year from the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta.
