To date, I have the honour of talking with psychologists, social workers, former MLA, lawyers, youth, Minister of cabinet, Vice Provost at a University, documentary film maker, former media broadcaster, and policy makers. Each episode ends with some calls to action so the listener can walk away with ideas they can think about, do, and do more of on their anti-racism journey.

Episode 15: From Apartheid to Ubuntu: A Personal Journey of Triumph over Racism

Zuraida shares her experience growing up in South Africa and how she was treated with segregation and racism. She stayed resilient in the face of injustice and lives by UBUNTU, which is a group and community acknowledgment of the role played in racism and to be an ally in this regard. She notes we are all interconnected.

Episode 16: Bullying and Conformity

Angela discusses the film she made titled, “Rocksugar” and it is about a young girl being bullied due to not conforming. She shares how there seems to be a pecking order in our society and wonders about the reasons why.

Episode 17: Moving Forward by Reflecting Inwards

Fouzia talks about the importance of being aware of power and privilege. She notes that power exists in many spaces and it is the abuse of power that is problematic. She shares the value of looking inward as a starting point to reflect on what happens outward.

Episode 18: Intersectionality Matters

Bo talks about the importance of intersectionality and shares their journey of their non binary identity. They express the importance of having conversations about anti-racism, queerness, and activism because it takes a collective to make change.
